Garden Walk

Mark your calendar for the 48th Annual Sheffield Music Festival & Garden Walk on July 23-24,  2016, featuring more than 80 Sheffield neighborhood gardens open for your enjoyment.

The Sheffield Music Festival & Garden Walk is looking for energetic individuals, groups of friends, neighbors, co-workers, and families to volunteer at this year’s Garden Walk and make it a lively environment and fun for everyone. There is no experience needed, only the desire to have fun. We teach you everything.  The Garden Walk is staffed primarily by over 400 volunteers. Positions include beverage servers, gate personnel, and architectural guides.

Mother Nature threw some wicked curveballs at our festival this year. Despite being the hottest weekend of a summer that was cooler than normal and a torrential downpour on Saturday afternoon, this year’s SMF&GW was a success.  More than 3,000 people viewed the 80 gardens, and all of the specialty garden tours and architectural tours were filled.

Mark your calendar for the 47th annual Sheffield Music Festival and Garden Walk on July 18-19 when more than 80 Sheffield neighborhood gardens will open for your enjoyment.

The Sheffield Neighborhood Association invites you to become a Patron of the 2015 Sheffield Music Festival & Garden Walk by attending the 2015 PATRONS’ PARTY on Friday, June 5, 2015.  The party will be held this year at the newly renovated offices of 2 Point Perspective located at 1137 W. Webster (www.2pointperspective.com). 

If you want to take a more active role in this year’s Sheffield Music Festival & Garden Walk, July 18-19, we need managers for the following areas:

Hilliary Szanto, Allison Spriggs, and Patty Hayes will again organize the SNA Patrons’ Party, which is scheduled for Friday, June 5. This annual event is hosted at a neighbor’s home or Sheffield business to raise start-up costs for the Sheffield Music Festival and Garden Walk. The 47^th annual SMF&GW will be held July 18-19.

Finally, Mother Nature provided the Sheffield Garden Walk & Music Festival with fabulous sunshine and temperatures.  Since June 1, this has been one of the wettest summers on record; however, the rains held off on our weekend.  

Mark your calendar for the 46th annual Sheffield Garden Walk & Music Festival on July 19-20, when more than 80 Sheffield neighborhood gardens will open for your enjoyment. The wide array of urban gardens in our neighborhood has earned Sheffield the title,  “Garden District of Chicago.”  We encourage everyone to support the neighborhood and display their gardens this year, whether an entire plot or just the front, side, deck, or backyard.
